SanFrancisco-Day 2

August 17th, 2007 - After missing our exit, which put us on the bridge to Richmond heading east, and getting turned around, we took the ferry again over to SF to see the sites and ride the cable cars. It was a fun day! We got on the cable car where it starts at Market & California Streets, but made the mistake of getting off at the top of Powell, thinking we could walk down to Fisherman's Wharf, which was a lot longer hike than we'd anticipated. Walked over to Ghiardelli Square, then back to Pier 39, which was way too crowded, as was the cable car line, so we took a trolley back over to Market and back up to Powell again. At that point, my back and leggies were screaming, so I decided to (of course) WALK back down to the Ferry and have a visit with Ghandi, while Grant wandered about some more. We both saw some awesome musicians and artists and Grant even got preached to by a very excitable street woman. It was good to get back to the hotel and just flop for the rest of the evening, since tomorrow is Barbara Wilson's party. (Click on pictures to see larger view)

Trip to the Bay Area-Day 1

August 16th, 2007 Because we were heading down to San Raphael (near Tiburon) for the gathering being held on the 18th in celebration of Barbara Wilson's 75th birthday, Grant and I decided to go a couple of days earlier and celebrate our own 6th anniversary and see San Francisco. The ride down was great in our new truck--very comfortable with air-conditioning which we needed as it was unseasonably warm while we were there. We settled in to our hotel and then decided to find out where we could catch the ferry. On the spur of the moment, we hopped onto the ferry and went for a (FAST) ride over to SF, where we walked around the Embarcadero, had a snack, and then took the 9:20 ferry back to Larkspur.

Karl's Whoopsie

Couldn't resist asking Karl if I could add this picture to my blog so that all could enjoy and marvel at what he does for "fun". Glad this didn't happen over Father's Day when Dad was visiting! You can see more of Karl's adventures at: http://www.timbertamers.org/
