November 21, 2006

I'll have to add Grant's photos later, but here's a few. This was our last day "on the road" because we reached Karl's & Ruth's by afternoon (after a few phone calls to say "we're at this road corner, where to next?").It was great to get out of the car for a while. We had a nice supper and visit.

Traffic approaching Mukilteo

I would have posted a picture of Ruth too, but I couldn't catch her.

Our Trip to Washington for Thanksgiving 2006

Days One & Two of our Trip to Washington: Coos Bay, Oregon to Seattle, Washington-November 20th & 22nd, 2006

It was a wee bit windy & wet

Tillamook Air Museum and Cheese Factory

Maritime Museum in Astoria, Oregon, on the Washington border.

Because we took so many pictures on our trip to Washington to spend Thanksgiving with Karl & Ruth and their friends, I have divided our trip into 3 parts...this is the trip north. We camped the first night just south of Coos Bay, but awoke to rain that never really did let up for long during our trek north. Sometimes the sun broke through, sometimes the wind blew, but mostly it just rained. I include pics of the Tilamook Air Museum, the Cheese Factory, and the Maritime Museum in Astoria, Oregon. The last picture is our one view of Seattle...never did see the Space Needle. Guess we'll have to go again!

More of our Big Bald Rock campout

Ooops! I published the last one before I was finished and don't know how to add pictures to it, so here are more.

Campout at Big Bald Rock-October, 2006

I recently went to Big Bald Rock, just east of Oroville, California on a field trip with my Sierra Nevada Natural History class. I was not enthused about it beforehand, but I am grateful to discover such a beautiful spot. And camping with 12 other people wasn't a problem at all!
