I recently went to Big Bald Rock, just east of Oroville, California on a field trip with my Sierra Nevada Natural History class. I was not enthused about it beforehand, but I am grateful to discover such a beautiful spot. And camping with 12 other people wasn't a problem at all!

Three Lakes - September 30, 2006

My son Karl showed up unexpectedly Friday afternoon after completing a Jeep trip along the Rubicon Trail with his club. When we discovered that Jeffery, Dorothy, and Jay were planning a trip to Three Lakes (north of Bucks Lake), we invited ourselves along, and I wanted to share a few of the pictures I took of our lovely trip. Jeffery even went swimming!!!
