December 28, 2008 ~ Grant and I grabbed our cross-country skis and headed up to Antelope Lake. The road was pretty good up until we reached the Taylor Lake turnoff. We saw lots of wildlife tracks in the snow. It was a simply beautiful day and I enjoyed it a lot!

The Birth Of Penelope (Christmas Day 2008)
(december 26th morning)
While Grant was over with his girls across town, Penelope (pronounced Peen-alope) originated in the minds of Matt and Kyria, who at first merely meant to build a snowperson. Kyria shoveled a pile on the porch as the base while Matt rolled out the torso. Everyone patted snow on to some extent, but it was Kyria who christened her and decided to make her a real girl, and Matt who fine-tuned her at the finish. She lives on as of this writing, although her hair is starting to fall out.Saturday, December 27, 2008
Christmas Day 2008

Christmas Eve 2008
Quincy, California. It snowed all morning. Jeffery & Kyria were flying in from Des Moines, Iowa. Jay was getting a PET scan in Chico, then driving up to our house. Dorothy worked the Post Office at Belden until 1, then went home to get Shay pup and headed up the Canyon. Matthew & Wendy were driving up from the Bay Area and would arrive late. We got some fake fire wood so that we could have a bonfire out front. Kristine and Ashley came for a bit of supper with us before heading over to have dinner with their Dyrr family. Dad wanted to give them their gifts from us---cameras---so they could use them. Here are some of my pictures. After supper, we played Scatagories.
