July happenings

This past Sunday, Grant and I headed up to Lower Bucks Lake to put the canoe into the water. It was a perfect day for it...hot, with a nice breeze. It's been a great year for the gardens! I'm harvesting enough squashes to give them away. Jeffery & Grant got the model A out of the shed to start working on it and get it running. The pool Grant bought (because we can't afford a hot tub) has been a godsend, and with a cover, it heats up pretty nicely (too hot for me sometimes). We've had friends to dinner and I include pictures of the Solar Cookoff held up in Taylorsville the week after the High Sierra Music Festival (farther down on this blog). It's been a wonderful summer so far!

High Sierra Music Festival - Weekend of July 4th, 2009

Dorothy & Jeffery worked as "ambassadors" at the High Sierra Music Festival this year and gave me a free pass in, so I went over around 5:00 tonight, July 3rd, and hung out with them for a few hours. It was interesting, seeing all the people and colors and pastimes folks engage in. The cowboy in the dress was only one of several men in skirts we saw. The music was fun, too. All in all, however, it was the little kids who intrigued me, as my photos will show. Happy birthday, Dorothy!
