At home and at the Quincy High School

Dyer Mountain Lookout - October 3rd, 2009

Heading up Lake Almanor's east side, you come to the turn off to Westwood. There's a dirt road there that takes you out to Mountain Meadow Reservoir in the valley and another that takes you up to the Dyer Mountain Fire Lookout. Grant and I have been trying to get to every lookout on the forest and this was the only one we hadn't visited, so we lucked out when a little bird told us how to get up there. To the northeast of the lookout is Mountain Meadow Reservoir and to the northwest, Lake Almanor. On the way home, we drove over the Lake to Chester and down the other side. The last photos show Mt. Lassen.
