The group of us got together to camp at the Yuba Pass campground in the Lakes Basin area of the Plumas/Tahoe National Forests. Attending were Dorothy & Jeffery, Dana & Leslie, brought his son Martin with them, and Grant & I brought Ashley with us, which was fitting as it was Father's Day weekend. We took a jaunt over to Sand Pond and the marshes, to Sierra City (population 500+), and the the Sierra Buttes, where there is a fire lookout. It was a really fun time and a lovely group of people. We'd all forgotten how cold it gets at night in the higher elevations, so we weren't as prepared as we'd have liked, but we made do. Dana's chili for supper and Dorothy's Scottish oatmeal for breakfast the next morning hit the spot! I sure hope this becomes an annual event.
