New Years Eve 2010 -- Feather River Canyon Trip

The Godface rock was up Yellow Creek at Belden. We went up Rock Creek just above the tunnels below Tobin. The mineral is limestone mixed with iron oxide, I'm pretty sure. So much to show you when you come out to visit again! (hint)
I like that the fourth photo from the top show a rock on the side of the highway, with a caution stand against it. Think of that rock coming down as you travel the road. Hmmm. I love the photos you took S&G, and to Kyria...no we didn't see Salamanders that day.

on my one trip out there dorothy took me on a hike to see the godface rock -- is that where you were? such amazing countryside.
